Cloud security company Zscaler has announced a range of new cloud security and AI solutions at its Zenith Live event in Las Vegas overnight.
The company announced four high-level services that work to expand the functionality of its Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange cloud security platform, all aimed at improving the management and mitigation of large-scale cybersecurity threats.
Zscaler Risk360 uses data collected from external and internal sources to provide detailed visualization and quantification of risk. It can create real-time risk scores for a variety of cyber threats at all stages of execution and provides workflows and recommendations for CIOs and CISOs, as well as helping to create material for presentation to senior management. management of a company.
Zero Trust Branch Connectivity aims to assist in the creation of new branches within an organization by replacing site-to-site VPNs with a zero trust architecture and, later in 2023, will also include a hardware appliance to facilitate expansion to branches smaller. even more agile offices. John Knightly, senior vice president of portfolio marketing at Zscaler, told Cyber Security Connect that some observers were already noting that it was strange to see Zscaler, which is ostensibly a software company, producing hardware.
“But it’s something that a lot of our customers wanted,” he told Cyber Security Connect.
Also announced was Zscaler ITDR, a solution that allows CISOs to monitor their organization’s attack surface while quantifying associated risks while illuminating network misconfigurations. It can monitor and stop a series of privilege escalations, as well as offer step-by-step remediation advice.
Zscaler also revealed a new ZSLogin feature, a centralized dashboard that offers entitlement management, passwordless multi-factor authentication, and automated administrator identity management.
On the artificial intelligence (AI) front, the company announced a security toolset that leverages AI and provides the tools for organizations to create their own AI toolsets.
“Generative AI presents a revolutionary inflection point in technology, and organizations that have large volumes of relevant private business data today to harness its potential will emerge as leaders tomorrow,” said Jay Chaudhry, CEO, President and Founder of Zscaler.
Zscaler Data Loss Prevention prevents data leakage and logs generative AI queries for auditing purposes, while AITotal provides risk scores for the growing number of AI-powered applications appearing on the market. Finally, AI Visibility & Access Control helps create different user policies around AI applications. Cloud-based remote browser isolation provides another layer of security, restricting risky actions like cutting and pasting when using AI applications.
“Recognizing the importance of this technology years ago, we deployed AI and ML capabilities to dramatically improve multiple services, from data protection to digital experience monitoring,” Chaudhry said. “Today, Zscaler is taking a giant leap forward by introducing a set of security capabilities that enable our customers to safely harness the power of new generative AI tools to predict and stop breaches.”
Zscaler also previewed a suite of AI tools that can predict breaches before they occur. Security Autopilot allows AI engines to learn from cloud-based logs and policy changes and in turn recommend new security policies and postures, while Zscaler Navigator offers a natural language interface that allows users to Users interact with other company applications in an easy and fluid way. .
Finally, multimodal DLP aims to extend data loss protection not only to text and images, but also to a broader range of multimedia formats that many organizations use daily.
“Zscaler will revolutionize the way DLP will operate by integrating generative artificial intelligence and multimodal capabilities into its DLP offerings to protect customer data from leaks in various media formats beyond text and images, such as video and audio,” the company said in an announcement.
