CrowdStrike announces Falcon for Defender
CrowdStrike’s new security tool is designed to work alongside Microsoft Defender.
Cyber expert CrowdStrike has announced a new security tool designed to work alongside Microsoft Defender.
Falcon for Defender is designed not to replace Defender, but to address any attacks that Defender may miss.
The new tool is part of CrowdStrike’s Falcon XDR platform and leverages that platform’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Falcon for Defender can be deployed quickly and easily without requiring a reboot and provides visibility into threats designed to bypass the Microsoft security tool.
“Security professionals tasked with deploying Microsoft Defender through the E3 and E5 licenses have long asked us for help. “Falcon for Defender fills critical security gaps at a disruptive price,” Michael Sentonas, president of CrowdStrike, said in a statement.
“Delivering visibility into missed threats and best-in-class threat hunting raises the bar for cybersecurity. “Falcon for Defender gives cybersecurity professionals the technology they want and need with the result they so desperately seek: stopping the breach.”
In related news, CrowdStrike has expanded its partnership with operational technology security company Dragos.
“The number and sophistication of cyber threats to industrial systems is increasing, and SOCs are increasingly tasked with protecting operational technology in addition to IT,” said Matt Cowell, global vice president of business development at Dragos.
“Our expanded partnership with CrowdStrike will provide SOC analysts with the OT technology and insights they need to defend their entire organization.”
