CommBank doubles down on free scam educational seminars in regional Australia
The bank says it is “doubling down on security in the bush”, with more than 400 free seminars planned for the next 12 months.
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has said it plans to double the number of free educational seminars it runs in regional Australia to educate its customers about scams and fraud.
CommBank plans to hold 400 in-person seminars nationwide over the next 12 months.
Staying Safe Online seminars are designed to help consumers identify scams and other forms of bank fraud. They will take place both in regional bank branches and in a variety of other locations, including community centers and clubs.
The seminars are one hour long and, in addition to teaching attendees how to spot and avoid scams, they will also cover common tactics used by cybercriminals and how to keep personal information safe and secure.
