AUSCERT announces new maturity assessment service
The new service guides Australian businesses of all sizes through 20 different security checks.
Australia’s Computer Emergency Response Team, AUSCERT, has announced a new Maturity Assessment Service designed to guide businesses through 20 of the most important security controls to keep them cyber secure.
The service is designed to help businesses assess their cybersecurity posture in what AUSCERT calls a “rapidly escalating threat environment.”
The Maturity Assessment Service is based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework and is assessed by AUSCERT’s in-house cybersecurity experts. Once completed, an assessed organization will receive a comprehensive report on its current level of cybersecurity maturity, along with steps it can take to improve its maturity.
After the initial assessment, organizations can work with AUSCERT on a free follow-up and receive a new Maturity Gap Report to help track your progress against initial recommendations.
According to AUSCERT CEO Dr Ivano Bongiovanni, the Maturity Assessment Service is designed for businesses of all sizes and all levels of cyber maturity.
“Australian organizations are facing an increasing threat environment and many don’t know what they should do and how to get started. “We have simplified the process, providing them with an assessment of their current cybersecurity posture and opportunities to improve, strengthen and adapt,” Dr. Bongiovanni said in a statement.
“We place special emphasis on providing practical advice to help them achieve quick wins and benefits without adding unnecessary complexity or costs.
“AUSCERT is a not-for-profit member organization that provides best practice advice without vested supplier interests. As such, we offer unbiased assessment and advice.”
The Maturity Assessment Service is open to all Australian organizations and AUSCERT members receive a discount.
