Absolute Adds Application Health Monitoring to Secure Endpoint Offering
The new functionality can monitor the installation and status of more than 2000 applications.
Security company Absolute Software has released a new feature that can monitor the status and installation of thousands of Windows and Mac applications.
Application Health can track a wide range of productivity suites, security controls, and enterprise applications, ensuring they are configured and installed correctly.
According to Absolute research, the average endpoint device in any enterprise-level organization has 67 discrete applications installed, while 10 percent actually have 100. Security tools, in particular, can be challenging to monitor and, at times, They often do not work as expected on less than 80 percent of machines.
Absolute Application Health can track application configuration across the enterprise.
John Herrema, chief product officer at Absolute Software, believes the new feature can help organizations get more bang for their buck.
“Today’s digital businesses are investing billions of dollars in mission-critical business and security tools, and we believe those applications should deliver the value anticipated,” Herrema said in a statement.
“However, the complexity and fragility of endpoint applications means that they too often fail. And if the tool you use to monitor your other apps is subject to those same flaws, then you’re really in trouble because it’s impossible to fix what you can’t reliably see or diagnose.
“This latest innovation builds on Absolute’s unique Persistence technology to provide the most resilient visibility and monitoring capabilities in the industry. This allows our customers to achieve maximum security, productivity and return on their software investments.”
